And the war continues....

On August 15 2005, Microsoft Group Vice President Jim Allchin decided to give some information about Microsoft Longhorn. "Longhorn is going to rock" he says.

Well... more fun was to read the comments , in one of which an "anonymous user" had counter-featured the features that Allchin had talked about and explained their presence in Macintosh.
I will be listing down a few of the war scenes... MS: Microsoft comment. C: The anonymous user comment.

Instant Desktop Search -

MS: Longhorn's search feature is called Visualize and Organize and will still be included despite the removal of WinFS from the system
C:
OS X Tiger has it. Check out http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/spotlight/

SyncManager-
MS:
We'll have a SyncManager in Longhorn to simplify the sync process for phones and other machines. It's [not ActiveSync, the PocketPC tool,] but a new version of synchronization, a brand new system being done for Longhorn that will have a whole set of wireless support so it can run more seamlessly between work and home and understands the environment.
C:
Once again, Microsoft's late to the game, but welcome to the party! I couldn't work without iSync from Apple. Seriously. See http://www.mac.com/1/isync.html

Security-
MS:
[Longhorn] will be safe and secure. Safety means you help users to protect themselves: Parental controls, deciding who you can talk to and what time, being able to browse the Internet in a protected window.
C:
You mean...like using a Mac? Do I REALLY need to say anything more here?
C: So that's it? "Longhorn will be a major Windows version?" "Longhorn is going to rock."? LOL...Honest to God, you Windows fanboys are a pathetic lot.

So on and soforth MS and C where having a virtual argument of who/what is actually better. If you want to know more about what happened you can go to http://www.windowsitpro.com/articles/index.cfm?articleid=46080&cpage=1 if it still exists.

There are two type of people existing, one who adore Microsoft and Bill Gates to the limit of worshipping, and the other who just want to find a way out to efface the so-called "monopoly" that it has been enjoying. Both these types strongly believe in their views and find no stone unturned in trying to let the other down.
Seems to be a virtual 3rd world war going on, producing advanced "weapons" they call "features" just to succeed over the other.
Well, still its much better than real war where the common man loses the most:)
